On the 17-20th of December (2015) in European Humanities University will take place research semina

The seminar is held within the framework of the international HESP project "From the Knowledge of Media to the Medialization of Knowledge" under the guidance of Almira Ousmanova and Andrei Gornykh, professors of EHU Media Department and researchers of Laboratory for Studies of Visual Culture and Contemporary Art.

Teachers and researchers from the universities of Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, Poland and Moldova arrived in Vilnius to participate in the seminar and discuss theoretical and practical issues related to the production and dissemination of knowledge in modern educational, technological, socio-cultural and geopolitical landscape. The main questions of the seminar are forms and formats of promotion and medialization of knowledge (from the art ofRenaissance to the digital culture), specifics of science journalism in the context of new media, specifics of curatorial practice of researchers in the field of socio-humanitarian and scientific knowledge in classical museums and contemporary art spaces, the effects of "digital turn" in various interdisciplinary contexts (from art history and semiotics to anthropology, film theory and urban studies), and creation of new educational platforms.

As part of the project will take place master-class of Daniil Kuznetsov (St. Petersburg, Russia): "Anatomy of scientific news: what is an event in science and how to write about it", presentation of the project "Industrial Russia" by Anna Kotomina (Moscow, Russia), discussion of the exhibition "Movie passes through the city" guided by curator, film historian Sonata Žalneravičiūte (Vilnius, Lithuania), presentation of educational platform "Digital Urban Studies" and other events. The program is available on English and Russian languages.

This is the fifth project dedicated to current research issues and teaching practices in the field of contemporary visual culture, implemented by employees and partners of Laboratory for Studies of Visual Culture and Contemporary Art in collaboration with the Higher Education Support Program (HESP) by Open Society Foundation.
