Performance and Performativity in the Digital Present

Olia Sosnovskaya will talk about performance in the context of contemporary digital culture. Today the art of performance can not only use digital technologies, but also appropriate their logics and processes as artistic method. Such as, for example, curating, research, collection or montage. The artist suggests to discus these tendencies and will also present her artistic practice.

Olia Sosnovskaya (b.1988) is an artist-researcher currently based in Minsk, Belarus. Graduated from BA and MA in Visual and Cultural Studies at European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania) and joint Erasmus Mundus MA in Dance Practice, Knowledge and Heritage. Works with text, performative and visual practices; develops interest in the problematics of the celebration, pleasure and political; body, dance, gender and postcolonial studies. Member of artistic-research group Problem Collective. Took part in various performance and media festivals and group exhibitions in Belarus, Ukraine, Sweden, Germany and others.
